Build Journal — printing, preparation, painting and finishing

Beyond the render

From digital file
to finished helmet.

Follow selected helmet builds through every physical stage — printing, support removal, surface preparation, paint, visor fitting and final assembly.

Engineering note

Two visor options.
One build-ready system.

Every compatible helmet includes a solid visor and a perforated version with 2.5 mm openings and a reinforced structural rim. Custom hole diameters are available when a build calls for a different solution.

MMPR Build 001

Red Ranger Helmet

Raw print → finished build

3D printing — Red Ranger helmet build
01
3D printing

From digital to physical.

The build begins on the K1 Max as a raw printed shell, turning the engineered model into its first physical form.

Support removal — Red Ranger helmet build
02
Support removal

Precision lives in the details.

Supports are carefully removed and every opening is cleaned before the surface work begins. A temporary visor fit confirms the shape and alignment.

Fit check & filler — Red Ranger helmet build
03
Fit check & filler

Built to fit before it shines.

The visor is test-fitted and held in place while seams, joins and small imperfections are filled and refined.

Sanding & preparation — Red Ranger helmet build
04
Sanding & preparation

Print lines out. Hero surface in.

Progressive sanding removes visible layer lines and prepares every contour for primer, paint and a clean final finish.

Color application — Red Ranger helmet build
05
Color application

The Red Ranger awakens.

Controlled layers of red are applied over the prepared shell, building an even color and the depth of an automotive-grade finish.

Final assembly — Red Ranger helmet build
06
Final assembly

Built. Painted. Assembled.

The polished shell, metallic details and dark visor come together in the completed Red Ranger helmet.

Small studio. Big obsession.

Made by fans,
for the community.

3D-KUR Studio began as a passion project by a CAD & mechanical designer who grew up loving Power Rangers. Today, it is becoming something bigger — a husband-and-wife studio combining precise 3D engineering with professional graphic design.

Our goal is simple: create detailed, accessible models that help fellow fans build the helmets they have always wanted.
